Freakiness on a Friday

Things are better in threes:

1) Combinations of fruits are occasionally very good (mixed berry flavored things are good), and occasionally far less than the sum of their parts (kiwi strawberry is far worse than kiwis and strawberries separately). However, in general, I’m pro-mixing fruits. Crystal Light makes a variety of energy-type drinks, a strawberry, a pink lemonade, and a berry pomegranate. I have only had the berry pomegranate so far, but it was quite good. As there was no real juice in it, it was pretty difficult to know whether there were any other flavors besides blueberries and pomegranates (both on the label), but it definitely tasted like pomegranate. This led to a discussion of mixed fruits, which led to Vermonstrous saying she was a fruit Nazi and anti-fruit-miscegenation. She’s a Fruitist.

2) Walking back home, with MBG and V, MBG brought up a topic of conversation that has been fairly common of late: how many different words can you use to describe perambulating at a variety of speeds, such as gallop, trot, mosey, and the like. He brought up loping, and asked what exactly it was, which I described as sort of a fast walk with a swinging of the legs slightly wider than the hips, which is sort of right and sort of wrong, but it led to my attempting to show my idea of it, and proving that I’m fairly incapable of loping down a busy street while attempting to avoid everyone else, partially because I’m just not built right. Partially due to my height. MBG suggested that if I were Dutch, it would be easier. Since they are all 5000 feet tall. So I said, “Yeah, if I were a 5000 foot tall Dutch man, I could lope.” And the homeless guy who we were walking by piped right in with “You are!” I salute you, on point homeless guy.

3) Was there a third thing? MBG INTERJECTS: Ah, yes - additionally, V had her first ever oral surgery this week, a root canal at that. Being a trooper, she returned to our office shortly thereafter touching her anesthetized face and providing what I felt was the greatest real-life LOL caption for her own picture ever: “Mah i-lidz r num”. We have no picture to do it justice, but a possibly-still-a-bit-dopey and halfheartedly-grinning V demonstrating this fact and issuing this remark has provided at least three days worth of chuckles for me now.
