Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo Garage Burglary

I went over to Tweaks’ place for roasted chicken, garlic bread, and orange juice last night and was having an enjoyable evening until her roomie, Mr. T, came home and placed his bike in the backyard only to discover that the detached garage was open, wide open.

Both the door and the garage door were ajar, and moreover, company was present. A little stunned, Mr. T had just gotten home and didn’t know exactly what was going on. ‘Door was open, didn’t know anyone was here,’ the visitor muttered as he quickly walked away. A confused Mr. T came into the house mumbling quizzically about someone being in the garage so it was time to investigate.

Things were scattered about but nothing seemed too out of place save the garage door not working. Upon closer investigation, however, we discovered that the intruder had jimmied the back door and opened the garage door with the red emergency pull after unplugging it. The back door wasn’t too badly damaged and the garage door was easy to plug in and put back in place so there wasn’t much more we could do but shrug and tell D. Stone, Tweaks’ other roomie, about it when he got home.

I went home and watched Heroes (season two episode two) with MBG and TM. Yay, it’s still not bad, though, it doesn’t have quite the same suspense that last season did. Maybe I have a soft spot for shows with Japanese characters. It’s like reading a comic book with your eyes. Wait, never mind. Anyway, while I was watching Heroes Tweaks gave me a call and it turns out a bike stored in the garage was stolen. Boo.

I hope it wasn’t one of the guys in the alley that I wave to every time I pass. I’d hate to think that sort of congeniality isn’t rewarded with immunity by the back alley dwellers of the District.
