Listmaking is healthy, right?

MBG’s week in health review, tripartite form:

THINGS I DEEPLY REGRET:
1. Not going to the gym Monday-Thursday
2. The Xingu at Blanc. Not that it was bad, just not worth the splurge.
3. Eating too many mini beef wellingtons at the wedding on Saturday.
4. Following those with 3 (!) slices of Old Chicago ‘Thai Pie’. WTF?
5. The sausage/egg/cheese bagel I scarfed at MCI on the way home. Again, WTF!?
6. Eating CV’s durian wafers and BFlux’s mango sticky rice at game night. Both were delicious, but I said no sweets!

THINGS I ONLY BARELY REGRET:
1. The ‘inside-out’ burger at Blanc. And the sweet potato fries. And the truffle fries. With house-made ketchup (catsup?), mustard, and chipotle aioli. That splurge was way worth it.
2. The dim sum on Sunday. Specifically the char siu bao. G’damn that shit is tasty. Turnip cake, too.
3. The single, nice trappist ale I had at the fancy beer bar (Rocketship?) in KC on Sunday.
4. All the rest of the thai food at game night. Too much, too late, but… worth it. BFlux made his own coconut milk/cream, for chrissakes! Plus curry paste! We had actual tamarind! Actual tamarind!
5. Half a bagel for breakfast yesterday.

THINGS WHICH RATHER THAN REGRETTING I’M ACTUALLY KIND OF PROUD OF:
1. Personal trainer session monday.
2. Getting up early this morning and going to the gym! For the first time, I think, ever! Seriously! How adult of me!
3. Making tuna salad (no mayo! veg-tastic!) and bringing it for lunch the last three days.
4. Stopping at just one serving of pad thai at game night (hat tip to Bobby McObvious on that one).
5. Focusing on drinking lots of water, like the trainer said.
6. Eating just some leftover tuna salad before I left work last night for dinner - dinner done before six!
7. Getting myself some fiber supplements (again, trainer’s suggestion) and also some fresh one-a-day weight loss vitamins (I took one of them on Tuesday and was all kind of sick, got home and noticed they’d been expired for a year. Good job, MBG. That part actually belongs up at the top.)
8. When I got back from vacation, I was still down 3 pounds from when I left! When I stepped on this morning… another four lost this week! 8 more to go ’til wii-fit time!
