I went into the grocery store a few weeks ago, a place where I normally just get the exact same things every time, because it’s easy and it’s not like I do enough cooking to make my meals interesting anyway, but I had just been talking about pudding, so I naturally went to the pudding/JELL-O section to see what flavors of JELL-O they had. If you drive through the Midwest around the 4th of July you’ll immediately notice an abundance of 3 things (or at least BananaFlux and I did): gas stations, churches, and fireworks stands. We decided that a themed combination of the latter two attractions would make for a good list, and frankly, we were surprised that we didn’t see one on our trip.
Try to imagine these as fireworks one would conceivably purchase at a Christian fireworks stand. How might each of the “products” on this list be embodied in pyrotechnic form? (more…)
