Concert review served rote and late

Just the way you love it. Obvs.

So by no means were we going to let our little halloween meltdown (most popular post ever!) shake us off our neverending parade of concerts - oh no, we have tickets purchased much too far in advance for that. Novemberween be damned, we had Thermals tickets for the Black Cat Saturday night, and go we would. (more…)

In praise of charity fandom

So, busy weekend… first chili of the season, which was tremendously exciting, and about which I promise I’ll post soon (pics!)… but setting aside all that deliciousness for the time being, let’s talk entertainment. I managed to take in two concerts last weekend, and they proved a study in contrast. On the one hand, Saturday night, Stars at the world famous 9:30 club. Was it awesome? Fuck yes. Now, the State Theater (more…)

MBG media review omnibus (June) 07

Sweet christ, I am a spectacular blogger. By which I mean it’s been a full month since my last post and, well, I’m sorry. I’m just not a very interesting person. That said, there *is* still a review of last month’s bbq being readied for public consumption, possibly in time for your labor day bbqs. Wanting to blog but having no obvious topic, I present to you: the things I’ve watched, etc., since sometime last month, in no particular order, as processed through a trope long ago conceived and discarded!
